Comparison of Tunings: High G Vs Low G

The best sound quality develops when the strings have completely set, which may ordinarily take some time. To achieve a stable intonation in just a few minutes you can repeatedly pinch each string at mid-length with your fingers, pull it decidedly sideways and tune it up again. Stop when the string does not pull out of tune anymore.

CONVERT TO LOW G TUNING FROM STANDARD RE-ENTRANT TUNING.
Your standard ukulele Tuning is with a high G string or re-entrant tuning.  Your C String is your bass string giving you the lowest note possible of C on the open C string.

Converting to the Low G tuning is simple.  Remove your high g String, fit the AQ6U Single wound Low G string in its place.  Simple as That.  You now have TWO Bass strings and your lowest note is now your Open G String.  

More notes to play with, a bigger fuller bass sound, and best of all Rock, Blues, and Pop songs now sound more like the original recordings as guitars are also Linear tuned.

You never heard a sound like this before, simply because before it did not exist.

A unique feeling and a strong, consistent sound. Until now, it was necessary to increase the gauge of a string for it to produce a Fuller Bassier Jazzier Tone. But increasing the string’s diameter also increases internal dampening. That makes the string less bright, less responsive, and more muffled; the thicker the string, the duller the sound. NOT ANY MORE with the Red Series.

The result is amazing: instruments sound brighter, more powerful, and more responsive through the entire range of the fretboard. The strings also maintain their intonation better, because thicker strings need to be fretted harder, pulling them further out of tune.

WHY ARE THERE DIFFERENT SHADES OF RED?
In the manufacturing process of Red Series strings, use of different percentages of metal powder to optimise each string’s performance within the set. Because of this, the colour varies slightly with each string in a set of Reds.

This is not a production problem. It is so each string produces the sound you expect from Aquila Reds!

MAIN FEATURES
The technical solution adopted was first to make the Nylgut elastic and then add the red copper powder in order to increase the density to about twice that of standard white Nylgut.

Color: red-brown
Surface: slightly rough; this texture has eliminated the squeak that sometime occurs with the Nylgut strings.
Elasticity/Elongation: consistent with white Nylgut!
Performances: better than the first elastic version! They do not break under tension providing rapid, stable tuning!
Intonation: accurate past the 12th fret
Pressing the string firmly down on the frets does not cause the note to sharpen.
It is not necessary to file the nut slot wider to accommodate our RED SERIES® string.
Density: about twice than standard white Nylgut.
