The Flight DUC450 is made from laminate mango.  While known more widely for its fruit, Mango trees also yield beautiful and valuable lumber. The wood is considered very eco-friendly, as some Mango plantations harvest the trees for lumber after they have completed their useful fruit-bearing lifespan. Mango has a similar density to mahogany, and if used correctly, it can sound even sweeter than koa and warmer than mahogany.

The nut may seem to be a small component, but it plays a critical role in the quality of the sound of an instrument.  The nut and saddle of the DUC450 are made from bone (not from plastic). This is just one of the details that makes this ukulele truly special.
