    The 8 String Baritone is at the Top of the Range in the Solid Cedar Top line.  It is as close sounding to a 12-string guitar as you can get.  Lush, full, jangly, it sounds so sweet and so big.

    Featuring beautifully gained Acacia tonewood back and sides with a rosette and binding. 

    Cedar has gained in popularity as a Top Soundboard due to its soft, lush tone. 

    The Solid Cedar Top lends well to fingerstyle playing.  

    Elegant and beautiful, these are some of the best-sounding ukuleles you will ever play.

    To complement such an excellent-sounding instrument, Kala gave it a full redesign for 2021. 

    The Solid Cedar Top with Acacia back and sides in a shiny, gloss finish, trimmed out in Rosewood binding is a sleek combination. 

    Kala added an Abalone rosette, a Rosewood fingerboard and bridge, and Graphtech Ratio Black Tuners.

    Cedar has a soft, lush tone that lends well to finger-style playing.

    It has a natural, loud projection and is often recommended as the best ukulele for playing on stage. 

    Please Note:  The tuning of the Kala 8 String Baritones is DD GG BB EE and not the GCEA of smaller Tenor/Concert/Soprano Ukuleles.  It is designed to be tuned to Baritone tuning, and if the 8 strings are tuned to the much higher GCEA tuning, this will subject the top and Bridge to tensions and stresses that it is not designed for.  So a word of warning that tuning to GG CC EE AA will void your warranty in Australia, and most likely make the bridge come off.
