Celebrate National Volunteer Week with Ukulele Trading Co—honouring the legends who power the Aussie uke community!

🎉 Strum, Sing & Celebrate: National Volunteer Week Is Coming! (19–25 May 2025) 🇦🇺🎶

Hey uke lovers! Get ready to tune up, turn up, and give a standing ovation to the legends who keep our community strumming—because National Volunteer Week is just around the corner!

From 19–25 May 2025, we’re taking a moment to shine the spotlight on the real rockstars of the ukulele world: the volunteers.

You know who they are:

  • The ones who show up early to set up chairs and tune 20 ukes

  • The friendly faces who welcome every newbie with a smile and a C chord

  • The jam leaders, festival organisers, and quiet behind-the-scenes champions who make it all happen

Without them? The uke scene just wouldn’t be the same.

🌟 We're Launching a Uke Volunteer Spotlight Series!

To celebrate, Ukulele Trading Co Australia is rolling out a special interview series featuring some of the most inspiring volunteer leaders from across the Aussie ukulele scene.

Think:

  • Beloved group leaders

  • Tireless festival organisers

  • Long-time jam session heroes

  • And the everyday legends who bring the magic of music to life

We want to tell their stories, highlight their impact, and give them the recognition they absolutely deserve.

🎤 Wanna Be Featured (Or Know Someone Who Should Be)?

This is your chance to:

  • Nominate an incredible uke volunteer

  • Shout out your group leader

  • Or step up and share your own story (don’t be shy—we love hearing from you!)

💛 Why This Matters

The uke community isn’t just about music—it’s about connection, joy, and kindness. Every strum you hear at your local jam is backed by someone who volunteered their time to make that moment possible.

This Volunteer Week, let’s show our appreciation and celebrate the big-hearted humans who give this community its rhythm.

🌈 Take the Next Step in Your Ukulele Journey
You’ve got the instrument. Now take it out for a spin!
Explore that local jam, find your people, and get involved—because the uke community is made stronger by every new voice that joins in.

We’ll be here cheering you on the whole way. 🎶💛

Strum happy,
Cheers,
Christopher Carr
